Patrick D. Baker, DVM
Co-owner of Bartlett Animal Hospital, Dr. Patrick Baker has cared for pets here since 1990.
A native of Iowa, Dr. Baker attended Iowa State University and received his Bachelor's Degree in Biology in 1986.
He continued his veterinary education at Iowa State and was awarded his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1990.
His professional interests include surgery and ophthalmology,
and he is a member of the Illinois Veterinary Medical Association and the Chicago Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. Baker and his wife, Ellen, are the proud parents of three children, Derek, Grant and Claire. The family also includes two cats, Shadow and Gato. In his spare time, he enjoys being outdoors and especially likes hiking and fishing. Dr. Baker is also an avid athlete and can often be found on the golf course or playing soccer, baseball and basketball with his sons.
Sue Nelson, DVM
Dr. Sue Nelson is a co-owner of Bartlett Animal Hospital and has cared for pets here as a general practitioner since 1992.
She grew up in Chicago and attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign,
where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Animal Sciences in 1985.
She went on to earn a Master's Degree in Animal Sciences in 1987 and continued her veterinary education at the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Nelson was awarded her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1992 and graduated with honors.
Dr. Nelson is a member of the Chicago Veterinary Medical Association, the Illinois State Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association. At home, she enjoys the companionship of her cat Peggy Sue.
Kim Dinan, DVM, CVA
A native of New England, Dr. Kim Dinan received both a Bachelor's and Master's in Animal Science from the University
of Massachusetts at Amherst. She then earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ohio State University's
College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008.
After graduating veterinary school, Dr. Dinan completed a small animal internship in internal medicine and surgery at two large referral practices. She has completed her Certification in Veterinary Acupuncture at the Chi Institute, a world-renowned facility for training in veterinary acupuncture. Everyone at Bartlett Animal Hospital is excited to integrate this effective alternative therapy within the range of traditional therapies we offer for treating chronic pain, allergies, and other disorders.
Dr. Dinan is a strong believer in working with her clients to develop individualized treatment plans for their pets. Her areas of particular professional interest include dermatology and surgery.
When not working, Dr. Dinan enjoys spending time with her husband, Jim, and their cat named Chloe and two rescue dogs, Minnie and Daisy. She also enjoys the outdoors and can often be found hiking, running, scuba diving, or agility training with Daisy.
