Surgical Services

Surgical Services at Bartlett Animal Hospital Whether your pet requires a routine spay/neuter procedure or needs a more complicated orthopedic, soft-tissue or emergency surgery, the veterinarians at Bartlett Animal Hospital are well-equipped to handle your pet's surgery needs.

Before surgery, every patient undergoes a thorough physical exam. This helps identify any pre-existing medical conditions that might complicate surgery or affect your pet's response to anesthesia. We also perform pre-anesthetic blood testing on each pet which allows us to get a better idea of your pet's overall health, and allows us to tailor an anesthetic regimen that suits your pet's needs.

During surgery, we utilize a variety of anesthetic monitoring devices that keep track of your pet's condition and ensure his or her comfort. Respiratory and cardiac monitors are routinely used during surgery. Pain management is an important part of our pre-, intra-, and post-operative anesthetic and surgical protocols. All surgical patients, including those undergoing routine procedures such as spay/neuter procedures, receive pain control medications. We urge you to discuss operative pain management options with our medical staff.

Orthopedic and Soft-Tissue Surgery

Cancer Treatment

The word cancer strikes fear into us all. However, thanks to recent advances in veterinary medicine, cancer treatments for pets are highly effective and many pets diagnosed with cancer can successfully beat the disease and lead healthy, happy lives. Bartlett Animal Hospital, PC utilizes both surgery and chemotherapy to treat cancer in pets. Many of the secondary effects associated with chemotherapy for humans are not experienced by pets.
